The 41st edition of the Cambridge Film Festival closed on 27th October. What an amazing week!
We’ve been a principal sponsor of the film festival for over a decade, providing digital support for their website, including three redesigns over that time.
Why do we sponsor the film festival? Essentially, because we love cinema. Simon saw Sinjar this week from Catalan director Anna M. Bofarull, which really stayed with him. It was based on the real-life experiences of three women and ISIS. It was a beautiful and powerful film.
The festival gives a voice to those who may not otherwise be heard – including a focus on female directing and producing teams. The festival also supports the next generation of film makers with its excellent Youth Lab – helping young people find their way in the industry.
Plus, it’s just really good fun. We had our gala evening with colleagues. clients, suppliers, and friends. It’s such a lovely chance to chat and have a drink with people away from the office environment. And we loved watching the film Corsage together to round off the evening.
As you may know, the Edinburgh Film Festival went into administration a few weeks ago. Supporting the arts has never been more vital. The Cambridge Film Festival is a charity. If you’d like to show your support you can become a friend of the festival.
If you’d like to support the festival in other ways you can get in touch with Simon (who is also on the board of trustees).
What’s next for us? We are planning a website redesign and CMS refresh in 2023 to give the festival team a better editing experience.
We hope to see you at the 42nd edition next year!
