Now in its 13th year, The DADIs (The Drum Awards for the Digital Industries) are open to all agencies who are producing innovative digital work. Studio 24 are a finalist In the category: Not-for-profit / charity website, app or campaign for their work on the Humanitarian Hands on Tool for CBM (The Overseas Disability Charity).
CBM works to transform the lives of people with disabilities and those at-risk in the world’s poorest communities, preventing blindness, improving health and helping people with disabilities to go to school, earn a living and access vital services, including during humanitarian crises.
The Humanitarian Hands on Tool (HHoT) is a ground breaking mobile app to help aid workers respond to disaster and emergency scenarios with inclusion in mind. During any emergency, people with disabilities are some of the worst affected but often find it difficult to access relief services.
This mobile app provides practical, step-by-step guidance that emergency workers can access freely and easily, to ensure that the help they provide (such as emergency shelters or food & water points) are accessible to people with disabilities. The first field testing was in Bangladesh in May this year as part of the response to the Rohingya refugee crisis.
We will be up against some stiff competition from national and international charities including Blue Cross, War Child and Unicef. The Dadis have been recognising and rewarding the very best in digital for the past 12 years. They have grown year on year to become one of the biggest and most prestigious awards in the global digital events calendar. For more information visit: www.dadiawards.com/
The winners will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner, held in London on 10th October.
